Hospital administrator sues another hospital for personal injury

A man, who suffered a stroke after hospital staff allegedly failed to administer medication to him, has filed a suit against that hospital. Perhaps one of the most interesting aspects of this case is that the man who is filing the personal injury suit is actually the administrator of another hospital. Although this did not take place in Kentucky, personal injury cases are heard in the state all of the time.

According to the suit, the 78-year-old man is suing for over a million dollars in a medical malpractice suit. His claim is that, although anticoagulants were ordered for him on more than one occasion, he was never given them. He says that this caused him to suffer from a stroke, which could have been prevented.

The man claims that, when he was 76, he was treated for rapid pulse and shortness of breath at a nearby hospital. He was admitted, and a doctor ordered an anticoagulant drug to help prevent a blood clot. Although that same drug was ordered for him twice, it was never given to him, according to his claim.

He says that the doctor went on to order a different anticoagulant, which he did not receive. A nurse practitioner then gave another order for the same anticoagulant, which also was never administered. The man claims that he suffered a stroke because of the fact that he was not given the needed medications that had been ordered by his doctors.

Anyone in Kentucky who has suffered injury because hospital staff failed to administer medications that had been ordered to prevent those injuries may want to seek out a personal injury attorney. This lawyer can advise the victim on how to proceed in order to seek damages for their pain and suffering. The victim may choose to seek compensation for lost time from work, loss of quality of life, medical bills and more.
